Commitment with the Basque Country University
Last May, students of the final year of the School of Mining Engineering and Public Works of the Basque Country University tested the knowledge acquired in class work at Itsasalde Residential composed of 111 subsidized housing units and 80 homes priced at the Biscayne town of Santurtzi that we are carrying out.
The initiative, -which will have its continuity on this 15/16 academic year with students of the IES Emilio Campuzano and a month later, the visit to the Urbi bridge reconstruction with the Basque Country University-, which found that the works of this size and complexity are scarce, which can be displayed as a practical example to students of the last step of their grade.
“As senior students, they have seen from a theoretical point of view aspects of foundations, structure, walls, plants, geology, stakeout … areas all contained in the work of Itsasalde, something that suits them for testing classroom learning, ” explained the professor of mechanical engineering, Marcos Uriarte, manager of the visit and that accompanied the future thirteen engineers.
This practical example was a great value, as students faced the stage of integration into the labor market, according to the teacher of the Basque Country University.
