We are increasingly using BIM methodology to work collaboratively on our construction projects. The complexity of many of these projects and their multi-disciplinary approaches mean that a certain level of coordination is necessary for the different partners to work effectively and efficiently using this methodology.
The ISO 19650 series of standards provides best practice for managing BIM work and can be easily integrated into existing management systems. ISO 19650 presents how the different actors in the value chain exchange, modify and record information for each asset, with a life cycle perspective. It aims to facilitate in a versatile way the standardised application of BIM in projects and infrastructures, regardless of their size, budget or complexity.
We have just finished the consultancy stage to implement the UNE-EN ISO 19650 standard in our construction projects. In the coming months we will certify our system.
